Dharma practice is more than concentrated bare attention. The Buddha spoke often of the importance of reflection in developing wisdom. We can develop wise reflection on retreat and bring that attitude into daily life.
The spacious, serene balance of equanimity provides the proper container and support to see life as it truly is, moment-to-moment. This allows us to respond to conditions of life with more wisdom, and allows a deepening into the insights of anicca, dukkha and anatta.
This is a personal story of how the simplicity of the practice of mindfulness has continued to support awakening to the present moment, which has been the most important way to understand life as it truly is.
