Every moment of true mindfulness is kind. This talk explores the possibility of cultivating a mind that can be with the reality of life. When we turn to experience with openness, we also become more open to insights, and our confidence in ourselves and our capacity for awakening becomes grounded in life.
It is possible to use our practice to keep away difficult emotions that we think are "bad" or "wrong" and this causes a split in our way of being in the world. When we practice a meditative approach to our emotions, we begin to wake up all parts of ourselves, and reclaim our humanity and our aliveness.
Love throws many of us off a little. Some of us would like our path free oftenderness and caring because love involves a part of us that is not logical orrational. Love puts the world together in a way that can't be calculated orreasoned. The mind wants everything organized and direct, nothing cloudy orconfused, but the spiritual journey is intuitive and not mentally derived. Atsome point we must leave the crisp edges and clear surfaces of the mind and moveinto the wonders and mysteries of the heart, and love is the path that does justthat.
