Hello from Dharma Seed!

On behalf of the hundreds of thousands of people who have benefited from the teachings on Dharma Seed, we thank you for your support!

It's been more than a year since the loss of our friend and fellow board member Rick Woudenberg. As a world-class software developer and volunteer, he donated thousands of hours creating and maintaining Dharma Seed's website over 17 years. It’s a significant challenge to replace his skill and generosity.

We imagine you support Dharma Seed for much the same reasons Rick did: benefiting from Dharma teachings, you want to make sure they continue to be available to all. We at Dharma Seed have worked at Dharma centers, practiced for many years, and feel this gratitude personally as well.

But keeping Dharma Seed alive is a greater challenge each year. Our archive includes over 80,000 recordings and grows larger every day. We are delighted to be able to serve an increasing number of teachers, centers, and listeners. However, ongoing maintenance and development mean our work also grows over time. We need to bring Rick’s creation to the next level of stability and reliability without him, so that we can then work on improving search capabilities to make the material more accessible.
