Exploring Emotions and Mindstates

Mindstates and emotions - such as joy, tiredness, grief, momentary restlessness or irritability - are all natural aspects of our lives, and as such form an important part of our meditative exploration. Moment to moment they influence our choices and fabricate and colour all experiences and perceptions of our selves, others and the world.

Over this weekend we practice how to notice and learn to skilfully meet both difficult and beautiful mindstates. We cultivate the skilful attitudes and emotions and also explore the fabricated and empty nature of all emotions and mindstates. These practices will support our hearts’ capacities to hold the difficult, as well as the developing a delicacy of attention in meeting the lovely.
