| The Buddha recommended contemplation of the traditional four elements — earth, water, fire, and air — as a way to deepen our understanding of the interconnected nature of ourselves and the world. On this retreat we explore the benefits of adopting this refreshing perspective. In addition to the usual Gaia House schedule, the days include reflections in nature to ease us into more appreciative embodied presence. The four elements practice has the power to dissolve our common sense of separateness from nature and open up a spacious and delicate sense of belonging. This can also resource us to turn towards the ecological challenges of our times. |
