| In this retreat we focus on the fourth foundation of mindfulness practice, contemplating "dhammas", which is an essential component of our practice. The Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta is a teaching which presents the four foundations of mindfulness, but the various versions of the this sutta present it differently, and the Ānāpānassati Sutta (Discourse on Mindfulness of Breathing) offers yet another explanation. This silent retreat contains an element of study, where we put these differences into perspective and try to make sense of them as practitioners. Then we transfer those understandings to our meditation practice throughout the retreat and in the perspective of applying them in our daily life. |
