The weekend will introduce the meditative practice of ‘inquiry’. Inquiry is a particular relational practice that naturally engages the first three of the seven enlightenment factors in the Buddha's teaching. These are awareness, investigation of Dharmas, and energy. Together they create a dynamic of radical allowing and present moment curiosity into all that is arising, amplified by the presence of those witnessing us.
According to the Buddha, the Dharma is apparent "here and now", and yet we can often find ourselves in some degree of resistance to what is here; even more so when in the company of others.
This online weekend is about establishing an inquiry orientation as a support for present moment illumination and discovery in all areas of our life and path.
There are exercises in pairs and triads with guidance on creating a safe exploration of inquiry.
It is suitable for all levels of experience, although a grounding in meditation or mindfulness practice will be assumed. It may be particularly useful for those wanting to integrate a path more fully into their daily life, or those encountering some stagnation in their sitting meditation practice. |
