Compassion and Equanimity: Heart-full Wisdom for Our Times
|
| Through the practices of compassion and equanimity, our hearts discover a capacity for steadiness and love, allowing us to remain open to the challenges of our times. Through guided meditations, Dharma talks, group practice meetings, contemplative verbal inquiry, and periods of sitting and walking meditation, we’ll call on the liberative power of compassion and equanimity to release a wise and heart-full response to the pain of our world. Although there will be periods of discussion, the majority of the retreat will be held in noble silence. This retreat is open to all levels of experience and to anyone interested in cultivating the relational and meditative ballasts of compassion and equanimity. |

As mindfulness practice unfolds, our experience of dukkha (suffering, dis-ease) naturally shifts and changes. Compassion morphs to meet it. This talk explores five faces of compassion that are cultivated through our mindfulness practice: patience, capacity, humility, spaciousness, and not-self.
