2008-09-20 The Drunken Buddha 43:24
Ajahn Sucitto
As we cultivate and come to know citta more, we may find it to be like a drunken Buddha – partly still caught up in unskillful actions, partly with the clear potential for liberation. Using hiri (self respect) ottappa (concern for others) as a frame of reference, citta begins to discern skillful from unskillful. Continue to practice in accordance with Dhamma, and the Path will clear the defilements.

This week we will continue with our series on Shantideva’s Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life. The next chapter is on Enthusiasm, Zeal or Heroic Perseverance. What keeps us inspired to practice? How can we counter-act the three causes for laziness? What are the three inspiring causes for happiness? What’s the difference between negative and positive pride? What are the four powers that can fuel our practice?

2008-09-17 A Committed Presence 66:43
Tara Brach
Our conditioning is to feel separate, creating an "other" out there, and often being at war with ourselves. By cultivating a committed presence we awaken beyond this conditioning. This talk includes stories and reflections that identify limiting beliefs and reveal our intrinsic oneness and love.
