In the Footprint of the Buddha: Wise Concentration
|
| As we cultivate concentration (samatha in Pali), we develop purification, tranquility and equanimity of mind and heart. These qualities prepare the ground for penetrating insight into the nature of existence. This retreat will offer an introduction to, and support for, the practice of concentration, as taught by Burmese meditation master Pa Auk Sayadaw.
Open to both new and experienced meditators, the course will consist of alternate periods of silent sitting and walking meditation, daily talks about the teachings, and small group practice meetings. An optional daily period of mindful movement will be offered by trainee assistant Leslie Booker. |
