The Buddha instructed us to bring awareness to the five aggregates of form, feeling tone, perception, mental formations and consciousness and to notice how we cling to and identify with them. If we cling and identify we will suffer. Non-clinging = Non-suffering.

James Baraz
Who You Really Are Walt Whitman wrote: “I am larger, better than I thought; I did not know I held so much goodness." A key aspect of genuine awakening is realizing the basic goodness that is our true nature (when we're not confused or lost in our stories). What gets in the way of accessing this basic goodness? What supports it?

2012-11-28 The Noble Eightfold Path to Freedom - Talk 2 of 3 1:38:31
Gina Sharpe
The Fourth Noble Truth expounded by the Buddha is that there is a Path to Freedom, to Liberation, to the sure heart’s release. He said that freedom is possible, and that if it were not possible, he would not ask us to walk the path to it. How can we use all of our life, its 10,000 joys and its 10,000 sorrows, as the ground of liberation, of freedom? By understanding the three pronged path of Meditation, of living a life of Integrity, and of developing Wisdom and putting our understanding into action, liberation is not a distant goal, but a present moment experience. Through practice, reflection and inquiry, we will deepen our understanding of the Path, its obstacles and its realization.

2012-11-23 Fundamentals of the Dharma: Appreciation 59:13
Rodney Smith
Many of us do not realize the accessibility of the heart. We think it is distant and attainable only through hard work. But it is as close as a pause in our thoughts, a hesitation in our busyness, and is the natural response of awareness to life. Our thoughts cover the heart with a foggy distraction, but when we interrupt the stream of our thinking the heart response with a gentle appreciation for living. In that moment life is acknowledging itself with gratitude. During this season of Thanksgiving, look deeply and silently to call forth this natural appreciation for living.

2012-11-22 Feast of Patience 17:25
Ayya Medhanandi
Can we not give vent to the wanting mind, not blame conditions nor allow discontentment to grow? Develop patience and persevere on the path. Know things as they are and accept them. Patience is the highest austerity. So change gears, and move away from old habits of mind by rubbing the dust out of your eyes. Weather difficult conditions. See the beginning of your suffering and end it in the ways of Dhamma. Plant good seeds.
