2007-01-27 From Insight to Love 1:19:07
Rob Burbea
This series of talks and guided meditations explores the development of the practices of both Lovingkindness and Compassion, with particular emphasis on the radical possibilities of Awakening that they bring. Through these practices we come to develop deep and beautiful qualities of heart as a real resource both for ourselves and the world, and also open ourselves to the profound and liberating understandings that can emerge from this path of love.

2006-10-05 From Grasping to Gently Holding 41:25
Thanissara
This talk explores how entering the Third Noble Truth opens the mind beyond its habitual addiction to interpret life from a sense of being a personality, needing to 'sort things out'. Opening the mind implies an ability to tolerate the reality of uncertainty. This talk also explores compassion and loving kindness as fearlessness and includes a simple guided meditation on well-being.

2006-07-19 Guided Meditation - Lifting The Heart 42:36
Ajahn Sucitto
The process of samādhi is as important as anything else, wherever the process lands. Give priority to 3 fundamental roots: inclination towards kindness/well-being; protection/warding off what’s harmful; letting go of sense contact.

2006-07-16 Guided Meditation On Energetics - Deepening Ground 47:57
Ajahn Sucitto
In meditation the ground has to be both clear and enjoyable. Make a joyful kind of effort. Refer to breathing to give focus; refer to the physical when the mind spins out. Track energy along the chakras – expand it, spread it around. May this be well.

2006-07-13 Guided Meditation - Opening To The Sense Of 'other' 21:04
Ajahn Sucitto
The tendency is to conceive ourselves as being a separate entity; yet, we’re always in something. There is something around us without which we wouldn’t survive. Practice sensing into the ‘us-ness’, the sense of me and something else. Mindfulness of body and breathing support this practice.

2006-06-23 Luminous Mind 56:06
Eugene Cash
Exploring identification and attachment obscures the natural radiance. How dis-identification reveals the nature of mind. Buddha described a luminosity of mind. This talk explores the attachments and conceptualization that veil this luminosity and points us directly at the radiance of mind. Includes a guided meditation. The Buddha point to the luminous nature of mind. Our practice allows for recognition and realization of our natural luminosity.

with Drew Oman, Janet Taylor, Laura Lin, Shaila Catherine, Sharon Allen
The teachers at Insight Meditation South Bay frequently guide meditation for the community. These recordings vary in length and style. They may include instructions for specific meditation techniques, introduce a dhamma theme, offer general mindfulness reminders, or present meditation instructions at the beginning of an otherwise silent session. Please listen to these recordings in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Turn off your phone, and settle into a comfortable meditative posture. Plan to meditate for 30-45 minutes even if the recording is brief and verbal instructions last for only a few minutes. You may enjoy brief recordings at the beginning of meditation session, and then continue to meditate in silence for as long as you wish. Silent periods during longer recordings are intentional; moments of silence allow time for you to practice the instructions that were previously explained.
