49:37
Tara Brach

The Dalai Lama invites us to trust in the power of heart and awareness to awake through all circumstances. What does that look like in the midst of our current global crises? These two talks explore what these times are drawing forward in us individually and collectively, and how we can live true to the full wisdom and love of our beings.

Taking All Experiences as Opportunities for Learning
63:16
Donald Rothberg
One of the central intentions of our practice is to learn from all experiences. This is not easy, both with difficult experiences or with wonderful experiences; we might in both cases revert to habitual forms of consciousness and behavior. We explore ways that we might "turn all obstacles into the path of practice" (as is said in the Tibetan Lojong teachings), or see "the obstacle as the path" (as in Zen). Central is our practice particularly with unpleasant or difficult experiences, studying and transforming our reactivity. We also see how sometimes there are important gifts that come from painful and/or difficult experiences; we share together in the group some of these kinds of experiences. We end with an invitation to practice with this basic intention to learn from everything in the next week!

Waves of Experience Meditation | Monday Night
19:57
Jack Kornfield
Inviting listeners to breathe softly and naturally amidst it all, Jack helps us flow through waves of thoughts, emotions, and sensations in order to come to rest in loving awareness, the timeless witness dwelling in each of us—who we truly are.
“When you notice that a wave has pulled your attention from the breath, receive it. Let go of the attention to the breath, and receive it with the same loving awareness, as if to bow to it gently.”

Q and A after talk - Q&A - Empowering Faith Energizing Practice, Wat Marp Chan
15:22
Ajahn Achalo
04:02 Q1 - How can one truly love oneself? Many times even though we do an entire project we blame ourselves for some mistake and focus on the negative things. 10:25 Q2 - I'd like to know if faith is all about being positive? What about the things that we really can't do? Is accepting that an aspect of faith as well? Ajahn mentions 1) the Anatta-lakkhana Sutta: The Discourse on the Not-self Characteristic. It is available here: https://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/sn/sn22/sn22.059.than.html 2) Adittapariyaya Sutta: The Fire Sermon, available here: https://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/sn/sn35/sn35.028.than.html

Die vier edlen Wahrheiten
59:22
Yuka Nakamura

Meditation: Befriending Our Experience
22:37
Tara Brach
We begin the meditation with a sense of befriending our experience – with an intention towards gentleness and kindness as the attention goes inward. We scan the body, opening to sounds and the senses, resting in the awareness that includes this changing life. When the mind drifts, as it naturally does, we notice, then relax back into a receptive, listening presence. There’s nothing to do, simply letting life be as it is. Resting in the freedom of awake, open awareness.

Three Practices for Nurturing Wise Hope
50:02
Tara Brach
Wise or spiritual hope includes the aspiration to manifest our full potential, individually and collectively, and the trust that this is possible. This talk explores how, especially in stressful times, this hope gets clouded over by fear; and how when it is alive, wise hope energizes and guides all spiritual transformation. We look at three practices – 3 A’s – that help us nurture hope: Aspiration for what we love, Attending to what we love, and Actively serving what we love. This talk includes several poems by poet Danna Faulds.

Upekkhā - Gleichmut
58:12
Yuka Nakamura
